Hanwag 1102-13 Bergell TOP Cafe
Classic double stitched shoe for rough tours - the Hanwag Bergell Top is an ideal shoe for trekking tours in rough terrain, for day hikes and excursions but also for long walks with the dog across wet fields. This shoe is made for every use and every weather.
The Hanwag Bergell Top falls into the category of double stitched.
Double stitching means that first the insole is punched out and then stitched to the last.
The first seam, also called the single seam, is used to sew the upper leather together with the lining and the lip of the insole (this is a bump on the edge of the insole).
When this first seam is finished, you have to "turn out".This means that the upper leather and lining are placed at right angles to the outside.
With some models, the frame is then added.
Then use a sharp tool to remove the excess from the toe cap, the back cap and the lining.
The overhang of upper leather remains - it is sewn around with the second seam.It is now the turn of this second seam.
Called double stitching, it joins the upper leather, frame (on some models) and midsole.
The upper leather is thus firmly connected to the bottom of the shoe by two seams.Ready is the real "twofold" sewn!
